Lovely India Restaurant & Bar

We visited Lovely India in Rotorua while traveling from Auckland with my wife and kids, and we’re really glad we found this place. We ordered the mixed platter, lamb biryani, and finished with mango kulfi for dessert. Everything had a fabulous taste and felt very authentically Indian. The service was very friendly, and the staff were really helpful in recommending dishes for us. Overall, a great experience — easily one of the best Indian restaurants in Rotorua.

We Came to Rotorua for my husbands 40th birthday and we were looking for a really good halal restaurant, my husband wanted halal certified as well so when we walked in we were greeted so warmly and shown the halal certificate too. Let me tell you we really really enjoyed the food and definitely will be back when we r in Rotorua next. Thank you guys!!! Amazing food and customer service!!

Just finished our meal here. We were unsure whether to eat here or not, because of the negative write off from 2 weeks ago. However we decided to give it a go. Best choice today. Fantastic hot tasting food, spice level exactly as ordered. Service excellent, attentive, polite and very helpful. We would be very happy to eat here again. Highly recommend. ***** 5 Stars!!

We were visiting Rotorua and looking for Indian food on Christmas Day, when most places were closed. When we entered Lovely India, it was extremely busy, but to our surprise we were welcomed very warmly by a friendly young staff member who explained there would be a short wait, which was completely fine as the restaurant was full. To our surprise, the food arrived within 10–15 minutes. We ordered a mixed platter and chicken curry, and both were absolutely delicious. The chicken was high quality, well-marinated, and full of flavor. This was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had, from the friendly staff to the excellent food at this Indian restaurant in Rotorua. My wife and I will definitely return and highly recommend it.

We’re visiting Rotorua from Sydney and it is our first visit to this amazing city. Last night we had a dinner at Lovely India — what a fantastic experience! From the moment we walked in, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The food was absolutely delicious and excellent value for money. Every dish was full of flavour and beautifully prepared. Great service, a wonderful atmosphere, and truly satisfying food. We’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend Lovely India to anyone visiting Rotorua.

We visited Lovely India on Christmas Day and were happy to find it open. Even though the restaurant was very busy, the staff welcomed us warmly and let us know about a short wait. The food arrived quickly, and both the vegetarian curry and lamb were full of flavor. The curry was rich and comforting, and the lamb was tender and well-seasoned. Great service and quality food -- I would definitely return and recommend it.
